As part of its 2030 development strategy, Azerbaijan considers “Green Growth” as one of its five priorities. This includes increasing the share of renewable energy to 30 percent of installed electricity capacity by 2030 and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent.

In this context, the country is encouraging foreign investment in, for example, solar and wind power. A new law on renewables has recently been adopted.
